Our product range, centering on packaging for medical devices, includes: flow wrapping (form / fill) both horizontal & vertical (bagging)
Horizontal Flowrapping:
Ulma can offer conventional top film feed or inverted systems where the product is delicate, made up of parts or difficult to handle.
Typical pack formats are; pillow pack, gusseted packs, MAP packs, re-closable / re-sealable packs
This format can include many options such as; labelling, coding & zipper options along with specially developed packs for inclusion of a tyvex strip or patch for sterilisation of the product at a later date. Both CAP & MAP are available with this range of machines (controlled atmosphere packaging & modified atmosphere packaging)
Ulma can also offer automation of product loading & unloading in to most systems with the inclusion of simple pick & place to high speed robotics.
Weighing & depositing systems can also be included.

Vertical flowrapping (bagging):
Ulma have a complete offer from simple entry level systems to high speed continuous motion machines. Many pack formats are available such as; pillow back, block bottom pack, gussetted pack, zipper packs, 2 side seal packs, 4 side seal packs. Both in CAP & MAP formats.
Automated processes can also be offered with this range of CAP / modified atmosphere packaging equipment – mainly in auto filling (powders / liquids / granules), or by weighing or counting parts / products into bags.
Typical machine models are; Olympus, Columbia, Mont Blanc, Etna & Everest.
Thermoform Fill and Seal Machines
Our range of thermoform fill & seal machines are well proven in the medical device market. All machine formats can be fully validated & can be specifically built to customers specifications. Ulma are well recognised as solution providers in this particular area having installed well over 100 machines over many years.
Our offer will provide for flexible top & bottom web, semi-rigid or rigd base packs. A variety of top web film or papers to enable further sterilisation processes to be used.
The range of machines allows for simple entry level models such as the TF Mini, TF Supra for medium to large volumes, up to the TF Optima or ST Series for large scale production & flexibility.
Ulma Packaging also design, manufacture & manage bespoke integrated systems where packaging machines are to be used in conjunction with automatic loading systems, printers, coders and labellers. This enables customers to carry out factory acceptance trials on complete systems prior to installation on the customers premises.
