RSSL Pharmaceutical Method Development and GMP, GDP Training

Reading Scientific Services Limited (RSSL)'s 12 laboratories offer routine and investigative analytical services to support pharmaceutical development, stability and quality control. We also offer bespoke and scheduled training courses in disciplines such as GMP, GDP and QP.

RSSL will be appearing at the Cambridge Science Park on the 12th of March 2013 to present a free breakfast meeting: "Biomolecule Analysis - A Multi-Faceted Approach" introducing bioanalytical techniques for molecular analysis.

Pharmaceutical Method Development and Validation

Our multi-disciplinary laboratories in Reading are superbly equipped with state of the art equipment and operate to GMP standards. Routine testing is conducted to prescribed Pharmacopoeia, or to client specific methods. Our scientists are experienced in pharmaceutical method development and validation, and in technology transfer for both client-specific and Pharmacopoeial methods.

Drug Release Profiling

We offer a wide range of services including drug release profiling, residual solvent, metal analysis, and stability management. The latter is backed by an extensive in-house stability storage facility, which is run to the recommended ICH guidelines and conditions. Our laboratories can also support client's stability trials by writing protocols, carrying out photostabilty testing, and developing stability indicating methods.

Microbiology and Preservative Efficacy

As well as offering routine testing to Pharmacopoeial methods, whether it be to USP, EP , JP etc, our Microbiology laboratory also offers environmental monitoring, preservative efficacy tests, and support with method development. The microbial aspects of stability are covered by our microbiology laboratory, which conducts microbial limit tests, endotoxin tests.

Product Contaminant Identification

Specialist facilities are also provided within our Microscopy department for the measurement of sub-visible particles, and we are also experts in product contaminant identification. Additional particle and powder characterisation work is carried out in the Physical Sciences laboratory, which also offers thermal, rheological and particle size analysis.

GMP, GDP, and QP Training

RSSL Training is based at our training centre in Reading. We have earned a reputation for highly interactive and relevant courses in a range of technical and business disciplines. Training for Qualified Persons (QP) is offered in 12 modules, and promises a fast-track approach to qualification. The course portfolio including Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and QP training is continually being expanded, with new courses in biotechnology recently being added to more established courses in disciplines.

Investigative Analysis

Our skill and ability to address any analytical challenge is seen most clearly in the investigative work of our Emergency Response Service (ERS), a membership service that provides immediate analytical assistance at a time of product or client crisis. This service can not only draw on the skills of our chemists, microbiologists, DNA scientists and microscopists but can also call on the wide range of analytical techniques including NMR, Mass Spectroscopy and HPLC to investigate customer complaints, out of specification results, contamination incidents, suspected counterfeits, and problems highlighted by routine QC checks.
