Yorkshire Forward is the Regional Development Agency responsible for the sustainable economic development and regeneration of the Yorkshire and Humber area.
Almost 5 million people help make Yorkshire and Humber larger than 80 of the world’s countries, including Singapore, Norway and New Zealand. This region boasts one of the UK’s most powerful and diverse economies, growing consistently faster than the European average and with a total GDP of £71 Billion, Yorkshire and Humber ranks alongside the top third of the world’s economies.
As one of the fastest growing economic areas in the UK, the region offers a vibrant business centre generating industries, jobs and expertise that attract some of the best brains and skills from all over the world. Industries range from engineering to information technology, biotechnology to chemicals, healthcare to tourism.
We have ten universities and over 40 colleges which produce more than 10% of the UK's graduates - over 40% of which qualify in science and technology related subjects.
The bioscience and chemical sectors have been identifies as 2 out of 7 key industry clusters on which to target our support. Yorkshire Forward is working with regional and national partners to support pharmaceutical and related industry to invest and grow.
