RSSL Pharma 12 laboratories offer routine and investigative analytical services for Pharmacopoeial, microbiology and microscopy analysis to support pharmaceutical development, stability and quality control. They also offers bespoke and scheduled training courses in disciplines such as GMP, GDP and QP.
Pharmaceutical Method Development and Validation
RSSL Pharma's multi-disciplinary laboratories in Reading are superbly equipped with state of the art equipment and operate to GMP standards. Routine testing is conducted to prescribed pharmacopoeia, or to client specific methods. RSSL Pharma's scientists are experienced in pharmaceutical method development and validation, and in technology transfer for both client and pharmacopoeial methods.
Analytical testing including Residual Solvent Testing, Metal Analysis, Stability Management
Our laboratories offer a wide range of services including drug release profiling, Residual solvent , metal analysis, and stability management. The latter is backed by an extensive in-house stability storage facility, which is run to the recommended ICH guidelines and conditions. Our laboratories can also support clients stability trails by writing protocols, carry out photyostabilty testing , and developing stability indicating methods.
Microbiology and Preservative Efficacy
As well as offering routine testing to pharmacopeial methods, whether it be to USP, EP etc, RSSL microbiology laboratory also offers environmental monitoring, preservative efficacy tests, and support with method development. The microbial aspects of stability are covered by our microbiology laboratory, which conducts microbial limit tests, endotoxin tests.
Microscopy and Sub-Visible Particles
Specialist facilities are also provided within our microscopy department for the measurement of sub-visible particles, and we are also experts in identifying all manner of product contaminants. Additional particle and powder characterisation work is carried out in the physical science laboratory, which also offers thermal, rheological and particle size analysis.
Investigative Analysis
RSSL Pharma's skill and ability to address any analytical challenge is seen most clearly in the investigative work of its Emergency Response Service (ERS), a membership service that provides immediate analytical assistance at a time of product or Client crisis. This service can not only draw on the skills of RSSL Pharma's chemists, microbiologists, DNA scientists and microscopists but can also call on the wide range of analtycial techniques incluyding NMR, Mass Spectroscopy and HPLC to investigate customer complaints, out of specification results, contamination incidents, suspected counterfeits, and problems highlighted by routine QC checks.
GMP, GDP, and QP Training
RSSL Pharma Training is based at RSSL Pharma's training centre, also in Reading, has earned a reputation for highly interactive and relevant courses in a range of technical and business disciplines. Training for Qualified Persons (QP) is offered in 12 modules, and promises a fast-track approach to qualification. The course portfolio is continually being expanded, with new courses in biotechnology recently being added to more established courses in disciplines such as Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP), Good Distribution Practice (GDP) and auditing.
Clinical Services and Product Optimisation
Our clinical services department can also help address issues of consumer choice in OTC Healthcare and Personal Care Industries, as well as assessing product safety, provide data for claims substantiation, and carry out research on product acceptability and preference. RSSL Pharma maintains its own volunteer data base.
By drawing on RSSL expert knowledge of both the food and Pharmaceutical industries we can support our customer who are developing new products or formulations by helping them with taste optimisation, taste masking as well identifying new possible vehicle for delivering the product.
