Piping Systmes for Pharmaceutical Applications

Georg Fischer is involved worldwide in the design and construction of piping systems for the Pharmaceutical Industry and can offer unrivalled experience. The Piping Systems Group is concerned with the development, procurement, manufacture and international marketing of plastic and metal components and systems for transporting, controlling, measuring and regulating liquids and gases. The comprehensive range of George Fischer piping systems with high-grade components is unbeatable in its flexibility.

Piping Systems for the Transport of Aggressive and Abrasive Media

The Beta PP combines all the characteristics necessary for industrial piping systems construction:

  • Excellent chemical resistance
  • Higher impact strength
  • Higher temperature resistance
  • Less internal stress
  • Excellent fusibility
  • Homogeneous, finer structure
  • Smoother inner surface
  • Higher service life

We are able to offer an entire line of plastic piping components, all made of polypropylene homopolymer (PP-H). We supply pipes, fittings (socket and butt fusion fittings), manual and actuated valves. Customers and end users profit not only from the excellent characteristics of PP-H, but also from the unlimited compatibility.

Secondary Containment Piping Systems for Protecting People and the Environment

Secondary containment piping systems for transporting aggressive, environmentally dangerous liquids are increasingly being deployed to raise safety levels and to protect people and equipment. These consist of an outer protective pipe with an integrated inner layer through which the medium flows. The space between the two controls leaks, or conveys liquids, or stabilises the temperature of the medium in the inner pipe.

Due to their good chemical and mechanical resistance, plastics are ideal materials for secondary containment piping systems. George Fischer has been marketing secondary containment systems for eight years. Rising customer demands led to the development in 1999 of the CONTAIN-IT secondary containment systems. The system was constructed and pilot installations were tested in simultaneous engineering with manufacturers, planners and user, enabling certain details to be optimised at an early development stage.

Water Treatment for Industrial Processes

Water treatment is a complex technical process. High-quality technical plastics have captured a good market share for piping systems in this industry. Plastics are state-of-the-art technology for industrial piping systems of today. George Fischer has more than 40 years of experience and is one of the pioneers in this field of technology. Industry, however, is not all the same. There are untold differences in the requirements placed on a piping system. George Fischer supplies systems for all different types of water treatment.

Wastewater treatment is unthinkable without corrosion-resistant plastic piping systems. During in-plant pre-purification diverse acids, lyes, and other chemicals are removed from the wastewater so that it may be transferred to the public sewage system without problem. Materials such as PVC-U, CPVC, PP, PE or PVDF are particularly suitable for such applications due to their excellent resistance to aggressive media.

Measurement and Control Systems

George Fischer supplies systems for many different applications - from agricultural irrigation, swimming pools and cooling systems to various water treatment plants and process piping systems in the chemicals industry. All systems are optimised with respect to economy and safety for customers, in the metal refining and paint industries, in semiconductors and in pharmaceuticals and life science.

Customers around the world depend on George Fischer for quality flow and analytical products, which are simple to operate, and generate reliable results for all their process requirements. The +GF+ SIGNET products include a full range of flow and analytical sensors, transmitters, monitors, controllers and fittings for process monitoring and control.

Our companies are certified to ISO 9001.Ten companies within the George Fischer Piping Systems Group have also been certified to ISO 14001, and the list is growing.
