REMP expands the range of Tube Technology Products

REMP AG

Oberdiessbach, Switzerland - REMP, a world leader in providing innovative solutions for sample management and sample security, announced today the introduction of the REMP 96 Tube Technology 900, the latest addition to their family of unique, flexible, and efficient tube storage technologies developed to improve upon the high throughput needs of life science R&D.

The REMP 96 Tube Technology 900 is comprised of individually sealed or capped tubes secured within its own 96-position Storage Rack, which can be efficiently and reliably transferred to another 96-position Destination Rack by means of being ‘pushed’ or ‘punched’ downwards from one rack to another. Each tube has a working volume of 900µl, if sealed with a REMP Tube Sealer, or 800µl, if capped with the REMP CapMat, and can feature an optional 2D DataMatrix™ barcode for sample verification and tracking. These unique tubes are DMSO resistant and can be safely stored at temperatures down to 80?

The larger sample volume of the REMP 96 Tube Technology 900 is ideal for storage of biological materials that requires storage temperatures down to –80°C, which is offered in a new series of REMP Automated Sample Stores, or for the storage of DNA in forensic applications. This consumable was designed with the ANSI/SBS Microplate Standards in mind and has dimensions typical of a standard Deep Well Block, which makes the new REMP 96 Tube Technology 900 compatible with most commonly used laboratory equipment and further complements the REMP 96 Tube Technology 300 and the REMP 384 Tube Technology product line.

The REMP 96 Tube Technology allows researchers the flexibility of arranging only the samples that are needed, which eliminates the potential risk of sample degradation arising from multiple freeze-thaw cycles, while also giving them a convenient way to repeatedly access their samples in an automated fashion through the use of the REMP CapMat.

REMP 96 Tube Technology

According to REMP’s CEO, Otto E. Ramsebner, “We’re responding to our customer’s needs for versatile, reliable, and efficient means for storing and retrieving their samples. The REMP 96 Tube Technology allows them to retrieve only the samples they need, to effortlessly and repeatedly cap and uncap their samples within these tubes, and efficiently discard any samples that prove to be worthless in the future in order to create additional room for new samples.”

The REMP 96 Tube Technology is compatible with REMP’s Automated Storage Systems, Automated Plate Replication Workstations, and other instruments that typically work with racks in a 96-position format. REMP also offers a full line of complimentary devices, like the MCD1, the MCD8, the ACD96 series of Capper/Decapper instruments and the Reatrix Reader, a 2D DataMatrix™ code reader, all of which contribute to the efficiency and reliability of this technology.

REMP, established in 1986, provides solutions for sample preparation and preservation through automation, robotics and software expertise to the pharmaceutical, biotech and genomic communities. REMP’s product line includes solutions for sample storage and retrieval, plate and tube sealing, piercing, 96/384 well cherry-picking, plate replication and re-formatting, and automated powder dosing, tube capping and vial weighing. Our corporate office is located in Switzerland with subsidiary offices located in Germany, Japan and the United States.
