Avantium has a dedicated team for solid state chemistry technology and services.
This activity was originally started as a joint venture between Leiden University and Avantium in 2000 under the name Crystallics. In 2001, Crystallics became a wholly owned subsidiary of Avantium, and in 2003 it was integrated into the Avantium organization.
Avantium's Crystallics group has developed a proprietary high-throughput approach for the rapid identification of drug polymorphs and the selection of salt forms.
We can conduct over 1,000 crystallization experiments using less than 5 grams of API with our patented XRPD technology. This means we can deliver high-quality diffraction patterns for each sample in a very short time.
Intelligent planning and advanced robotics yield an impressive throughput of at least 200 crystallizations a day.
Polymorph and salt screens, together with the detailed finalized data analysis CD-ROM report, are completed within 4-6 weeks of receipt of the API.
