Quick-Brix™ Portable Refractometer launched by Mettler Toledo

Mettler Toledo

Mettler Toledo introduces Quick-Brix™, a portable refractometer used to measure sugar content in juice concentrates, tinned foods, Jam or Honey.

METTLER TOLEDO is delighted to introduce Quick-Brix™, a new portable refractometer available in two versions.

Quick-Brix™ 60 is ideal for fruit and vegetable growers to determine the right time for harvesting. For measuring the sugar content – Brix – directly in the orchard, vineyard or field, a drop of juice is squeezed on to the measuring prism and the result is available at the touch of a button.

QuickBrix Portable Refractometer

Quick-Brix™ 90 has a wider measuring range and a higher accuracy and is well suited for drink and food manufacturing. Ideal for analyzing incoming raw materials or for performing quick checks next to the production line, Quick-Brix™ 90 is the perfect tool to make sure that food ingredients such as jam or honey have the right quality or that juice concentrates or tinned food have the right sugar content.

Both instruments come in a rugged splash-proof design and can be used in dusty or challenging environments. For cleaning they can be rinsed under a tap and their small size and weight allows them to fit in your pocket. Using just one button both instruments can be operated as well as calibrated, making it simple to use for any farm or production operative. Digital measurement, as opposed to traditional optical Brix measurement, eliminates operator bias, so results are considerably more comparable.
