Inditherm Modular Pipework Heating Systems Dramatically Reduce Energy Costs

Inditherm plc

In response to market demand, Inditherm has developed a revolutionary modular pipework heating systems.

This enables more rapid installation and provides higher standards of hygiene, improved health and safety, energy savings, and improved temperature control. The system comprises modular, heated pipe sections that are manufactured off-site.

Utilising Inditherm's patented low voltage conductive polymer technology as the heat source, the systems are very reliable, safe and use approximately 25% of the energy of alternative heating technologies. Used widely throughout the food processing, confectionery, pharmaceutical, and chemical industries, Inditherm Modular Heating Systems are a major step forward in the way such systems are installed and operated.

Key Benefits
Modular pipework system installed at a leading confectionary manufacturer’s plant.Reduced energy costs. Because the system uses Inditherm's unique low voltage carbon-based polymer, and only switches on when the temperature of the fluid drops below its pre-determined level, energy is conserved.

Comparative site measurements by leading manufacturers have shown that the running costs of Inditherm are typically only 25% of those for other heating systems.

Higher standards of hygiene. Unique outer cladding with the option of 316L stainless steel ensures the very highest levels of hygiene.

Rapid installation time. Inditherm's low voltage heating pads are secured to the pipework, along with insulation and cladding, in a factory setting, prior to transport to the site. This allows very rapid installation and reduces health and safety issues on site.

Tight temperature control. This system will allow the temperature to be managed to within ±1°C, ensuring you have complete control of your process at all times.

Installation Options
There are two types of system available, professionally engineered to suit customer's individual needs:

Option 1: Conventional cladding made of stainless steel or AluzincTM secured in position by rivets.

Conventional Cladding

Option 2: Rigid, welded 1.4mm thick stainless steel cladding with 3mm welded end caps. For use where hygiene is critical.

Rigid Cladding

Typical Applications
Inditherm's modular process pipework systems can be used for heating of the following materials:

  • Modular Process PipeworkFats.
  • Oils.
  • Chocolate.
  • Glucose.
  • Liquid sugars.
  • Syrups.
  • Chemicals and surfactants.

Inditherm Conductive Polymer Technology

Heated Removable JacketInditherm conductive polymer technology (CPT) is based on a unique carbon-based polymer that generates uniform heat across its entire surface when energised by a low voltage power source.

The Inditherm has fabric-like qualities and flexibility that enable it to be used on pipes and on most industrial components, including items with shapes that are normally difficult to heat. In addition, it is ideal for heating large, flat areas.

The Inditherm polymer is encapsulated in an appropriate, insulated outer cover, depending upon the application. Heated pads can be made to a suitable length to fit between brackets, flanges, etc.
