Farfield Group Ltd

Farfield appoints Dr Usha Devi and Dr Tim Fagge as Product Specialists

Farfield Group Ltd (Crewe, UK), experts in analytical instrumentation for the international biophysics, surface science and nanotechnology communities, is delighted to announce the expansion and enhancement of our sales team by the addition of two new Product Specialists. Their role will be to boost the sales process by giving seminars and providing increased customer support in new areas for Farfield.

Molecular Design and Synthesis

Dr Usha Devi has recently completed a PhD at the Manchester Interdisciplinary Biocentre. Her thesis was concerned with molecular design and synthesis, and the development of novel, artificial systems to mimic membrane transport. She studied binding of synthetic molecules to liposomes to create pores and monitor leakage. These techniques have direct relevance to the understanding of disease processes and the development targeted drug delivery.

During her studies Usha used numerous analytical techniques and instrument platforms. This makes Usha an ideal addition to the Farfield team and we wish her a long and productive career with us. Usha commented "I am proud to be a part of Farfield promoting such a unique and exciting analytical technique. This is a great opportunity for me to apply my skills to helping customers get the most from their AnaLight®".

Diagnostic Assay Development

Dr Tim Fagge joins us from Millipore with excellent references. Tim is highly qualified with over ten years' experience in diagnostic assay development, proteomics and biochemistry in both academic and industrial environments. Tim spent seven years with the Scottish National Blood Transfusion Service and the National CJD Surveillance Unit developing blood diagnostic screening assays.

In industry, Tim spent several years with Millipore UK Ltd Bioprocess Division developing novel chromatography products for purification of monoclonal antibodies. He also worked as an applications specialist supporting new and established products and market-driven projects. Tim said "I am very pleased to be working with such a novel and innovative technology. I look forward to making a significant contribution to the future development of the company".

Dr Robert Hutton, Farfield's Sales & Marketing Director, remarked "I am delighted that such talented people have joined our team. I am confident that this will be a great career move for them and a real boost for Farfield's sales process. I have high expectations for increased productivity and global growth."
