November brings the third CPhI India and the second P-MEC India back to Mumbai, where P-MEC India was launched with great success in 2007.
With India’s pharma machinery market expanding by approximately 15% p.a. it was no surprise that the show attracted nearly 300 exhibitors for its debut! Together with ICSE India, the exhibitions provide complete coverage of the pharma ingredients, contract/outsourcing services and production equipment sectors.
Beyond serving the rapidly expanding Indian domestic pharma market – predicted to more than treble between 2005 and 2015 – the three exhibitions have strongly established themselves as the main “industry event” for the entire South Asia region.
CPhI, ICSE and P-MEC are an ideal meeting place for all sectors of this community – including academic, development, R&D, services and manufacturing.
Indications are that 2008 will welcome a combined 600 exhibitors and 26,000 attendees from over 90 countries. Event dates at the Bombay Exhibition Centre in Mumbai are 28 – 30 November 2008 for CPhI India and ICSE India and 27 – 30 November 2008 for P-MEC India.
Launched in 2006, CPhI India became the fourth member of the brand’s global event “family”. The combined exhibitions are the largest pharma services event in India and South Asia, with co-location enabling an exceptionally high level of networking and business opportunities in a single visit.
CPhI Event Director Annemieke Timmers says: “CPhI India broke our launch show records on its debut in 2006, and the momentum continued with the highly successful introduction of P-MEC last year”. And she continued: “Exhibitor valuations of the events are evidenced by the high level of repeat bookings for 2008, which equally reflect India’s status as an increasingly influential player on the global pharma stage”.
ICSE and P-MEC Event Manager Haf Cennydd added: “Interest by the pharma equipment sector was such that we were delighted to advance our launch plans for P-MEC India by a whole year – and then to celebrate a highly successful debut.
“The concept of high level networking across three closely connected events has appealed to a technical sector with major influence upon pharma production efficiency – promising another successful P-MEC India this year”.
CPhI, ICSE and P-MEC India 2008 are again being supported by key industry organisations. These include the Government of India’s Pharmexcil and the IDMA, OPPI, BDMA, IPMMA and IAIA.
