P-MEC Japan Pharmaceutical Equipment Exhibition To Debut In 2008
Exhibition organisers CMPi have announced the 2008 addition to their Japan pharma services events of P-MEC Japan.
P-MEC - the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing and Equipment Convention - will have its Japan debut at Tokyo’s Big Sight on Wednesday 9 - Friday 11 April 2008. It will be staged alongside the CPhI Japan pharma ingredients and ICSE Japan contract services events.
P-MEC Japan will complete CMPi’s trio of simultaneous, single-site events providing wide coverage across all main pharma services sectors in the world’s third largest pharma market.
The addition is expected to accelerate the Japanese exhibitions beyond their current attraction of well over 13,000 visitors and 419 exhibitors. CPhI Japan was established in 2002 and joined by ICSE Japan in 2005. P-MEC is already well-established in Europe and China and debuts in India later this year.
Commenting on its Japan launch, CMPi’s Event Manager for P-MEC, Hans Stoter, said: “This logically extends the coverage of our Japan events, providing showcase opportunities for both Japanese and international companies”.
And he added: “It accords with our strategy to extend P-MEC into a global portfolio of events, focused for the growing emphasis on cost efficient production routes and systems for increasingly complex pharma products”.
Pharmaceutical Machinery and Equipment Event
P-MEC was created to meet the need for a specific pharma machinery and equipment event - but with the visitor and networking value of the established CPhI brand. Launched in Europe alongside the 2005 CPhI, P-MEC grew 50% for 2006 and has more than doubled to over 60 exhibitors for 2007.
Also this year, P-MEC China had over 170 exhibitors in only its second year. Meanwhile, due to industry interest, the launch of P-MEC India has been brought forward a year to this November - resulting in a 10,000 sq. m. net show size with over 200 exhibitors.
CPhI Japan, ICSE Japan - and now P-MEC Japan - are staged by CMPi and sister company CMP Business Media Co. Ltd. Japan. Co-organizers are The Chemical Daily Co. Ltd. - which publishes Chemical Daily and Japan Chemical Week.
