Don't worry if you don't have access to a computer or the internet, there are other ways Business Link can help you with any problems or queries you may have.

With offices in Carlisle and Barrow, Business Link's Information Services team provide help and assistance to individuals and businesses based in Cumbria. Joyce Hughes, Customer Information Officer and Belinda Rodgers, Customer Enquiry Officer, are here to help and answer any queries which come their way.

They are able to offer a wide range of services including:

  • Signposting to specialists who can ensure you know how the latest legislation affects your business

Our Information Services team provide you with the right information, services or opportunities by utilising resources such as Internet based databases, Business Information Factsheets (which cover just about every topic imaginable) and the latest, up-to-date directories. They are also able to access the Business Link website and are more than willing to print any useful business information, which can then be sent through the post.

Contacting the Information Services team is absolutely FREE, most basic information is offered FREE of charge. If a fee does apply, you will be advised of any chargeable items before you decide to proceed.

With experience in the automotive, materials handling, education, railway and hospitality industries, Suzanne joined Business Link over eight years ago as a business adviser.

When Cumbria was devastated by Foot & Mouth, Suzanne set up and managed Foot & Mouth Recovery support, and, following the severe flooding which hit Carlisle in January 2005, ran the Flood Recovery programme.

In her current role Suzanne has responsibility for communications, marketing, information services, the adviser team and all contracts and projects.

Suzanne moved to Cumbria fourteen years ago when she married her husband Alan, who is a director of a successful Cumbrian SME.

Her qualifications include:

* BA Hons in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham, * MBA from the University of Bradford Management Centre, * CIM Diploma in Marketing, * CIM Chartered Marketer - Suzanne was in the first batch of people ever to be awarded this status
