The locker room or changing room, that innocuous interface between the working and personal environments for many people, can also harbour the potential for spreading infections through cross contamination.
This is particularly relevant to the healthcare, food processing, catering, hospitality, hotel and retail market sectors, but can also apply wherever there are designated personal storage areas used by large numbers of people on a regular basis. This can include all levels of education establishments, sports centres, commercial offices and manufacturing industries.
The surface areas of storage lockers can become bacterial breeding grounds, resulting from daily contacts by personnel who have been exposed to contaminated environments. Storage lockers manufactured by Link Lockers, however, now offer a surface hygiene protection, considered to be unique for this type of product, which makes them an obvious choice in areas of possible risk. The protection is provided through a technology partnership with BioCote Ltd, who specialise in providing a range of proprietary and patent protected anti-microbial solutions.
Biocote provides the anti-microbial technology through a powder-coated finish of the steel lockers, to ensure permanent, positive protection against the surface growth of dangerous pathogens and bacteria, which could otherwise be transferred from the working environment into the public domain and vice-versa.
These lockers now offer an additional line of defence in the risk management procedures against bacterial cross-contamination in the workplace. In the high risk medical and food related areas, this provides the due diligence demanded of personnel responsible for ensuring that every avenue is explored and utilised in the fight against the proliferation of disease and infection.
The equipment provided by Link Lockers includes their 1800S, 1780R and 1770U series of Standard, Rhino and Utility range locker units, together with cupboards, cabinets and associated changing room accessory equipment.
The range comprises single, two, three, four and six compartment locker cubicles 1800mm high, which can be supplied in optional width and depth combinations. Mini, slimline, heavy duty and two person combination lockers can also be supplied as part of a wide selection of purpose designed equipment.
Products can be supplied in several standard RAL colours, with optional pastel variations to suit modern colour schemes also being available. Depending on the product range, the door locking mechanisms include deadlock, pistol grip, combination and high security three point locking systems. Coin operated lock mechanisms with either coin return or coin retention options are also available.
