Larox will introduce “Wave-Dri” microwave drying on the complete range of Pannevis RT Horizontal Vacuum Belt Filters, at the ACHEMA 2006 trade show in Frankfurt, Germany from May 15 – 19, 2006.
This new development in partnership with MEAC nv of Heverlee, Belgium, greatly increases the capability of the RT filters to dry filter cakes prior to discharging from the filter.
The Pannevis RT vacuum belt filter was introduced to the marketplace in 1967 as the very first tray-type horizontal vacuum belt filter. It quickly became the market leader in the Chemical Process Industries due to its ease of operation, performance, cleanliness and reliability. Pannevis subsequently was also the first to introduce the Fume Tight, Gas Tight and Pressure Tight vacuum belt filter designs as well as the Press Belt and Vacuum Press Belt, both of which further improved dewatering performance. The latest innovation for the Pannevis RT filter is Larox "Wave-DriTM", the first commercial use of microwave drying in combination with horizontal vacuum belt filter technology.
Larox "Wave-DriTM" has been developed in partnership with one of the leading companies in microwave drying technology, MEAC nv of Heverlee, Belgium. The partnership continues with MEAC providing all microwave know-how and equipment including testing and sizing for the new systems. Testing enables development of a time-energy profile allowing each installation to be individually tailored to control cake temperature and final cake moisture.
The technology is designed to be a modular, bolt-on option to the Pannevis RT filter range, thus offering retrofit capability for existing filters. Output power units range from 32 kW increasing in increments up to 96 kW. The system is capable of working with all polar liquids and is suitable for drying filter cakes from around 40% moisture down to less than 1%. Typical applications include fine chemicals, pigments, metal powder, metal salts and ceramic powders but is suitable for many different types of filter cakes.
The Larox "Wave-Dri" system is totally automatic and fully integrated in the Larox Automation System with all the associated advantages and benefits.
It will also be fully supported by the Larox Service group, the most comprehensive and experienced network in the industry, covering the world with operations in over 40 countries and providing reliable support throughout the entire lifecycle of the product.
Larox is committed to helping its clients meet the following goals
- Reduced lifetime production costs - especially energy based costs
- Improved product quality, value and consistency
- Improved safety, health and environmental performance
