DIA Names New Director of Volunteer and Member Services

Drug Information Association

The Drug Information Association (DIA) announces the addition of Marlynn Orlando to its management team as director of volunteer and member services.

As director of volunteer and member services, Ms. Orlando will be responsible for the strategic coordination of worldwide DIA volunteer organizations and activities. In addition, she will oversee the development of technological services that will allow community members to communicate on-line and network with each other.

“The importance of volunteerism is highlighted in our new mission and vision,” said David Maola, executive director of DIA. “It (volunteerism) has become a top priority for us. As we move forward with this initiative, Marlynn’s professional background will be invaluable to our association and members.”

Before joining the DIA, Ms. Orlando served as vice president and dean of academic advancement for Peirce College in Philadelphia. She was also executive director at PENJERDEL Employee Benefit & Compensation Association, where she was responsible for leading the volunteer committees and motivating them to assist in the achievement of the association’s goals.

"Ultimately, it is the volunteers that develop DIA's world class programs," said Orlando. "I look forward to collaborating with different departments at DIA to enhance the activities and services available to our volunteers."

Ms. Orlando received her bachelor’s degree in advertising from Michigan State University and her master’s degree in counseling from West Chester University. Her volunteer efforts include board member and co-chair positions for the annual fundraiser for Wheels for Wellness and marketing chair and board member positions for the Delaware Valley Society of Association Executives (DVSAE). She currently resides in Media.
