Statistical Methodology in Clinical & Non Clinical R&D

DIA’s International Workshop on Statistical Methodology in Clinical and Nonclinical R&D, October 26–28 in Nice, France, is intended to stimulate interaction between statisticians and professionals with an interest in the applications of statistics in the pharmaceutical industry. It will promote sharing of knowledge and experience between those working in the pharmaceutical industry, the academic community, government agencies, and contract research organizations. The workshop aims to contribute to the successful application of statistics throughout all phases, from discovery to marketed products, making best use of new methodological developments. The workshop is ideal for statisticians and other professionals with an interest in the application of statistics to drug discovery, development, and production from the pharmaceutical industry, contract research organizations, academia, regulatory, and other government agencies. Based on highlights of the workshop, a panel of eminent industry and regulatory professionals will facilitate discussion with the audience on the main themes and, in particular, how statisticians in both the pharmaceutical industry and regulatory agencies can stimulate and facilitate the necessary developments. The workshop will also feature a tabletop exhibition and networking dinner.

Four Worlds—One Vision: Delivering Quality Data Effectively

Following the success of last year’s Three Worlds—One Voice Conference, DIA is pleased to announce Four Worlds—One Vision: Delivering Quality Data Effectively. This year’s conference has been designed to explore the interface and integration of Clinical Data Management, eClinical, Information Technology, and Validation. The program for this innovative conference has been jointly developed by the Clinical Data Management, eClinical, Information Technology, and Validation SIACs (Special Interest Area Communities). Delegates will have the option of joining one of the parallel tracks dedicated to their core discipline, or attending specific talks, or sessions covering other disciplines. This joint conference is also intended to further build affiliation among DIA volunteer members as well as providing increased content and opportunities to share information. Participants at the conference will gain state-of-the art, clinical data management, eClinical, IT and validation (pharma, biotech, and devices context) knowledge and hear from professionals and service providers across different areas of expertise and culture. The meeting will benefit professionals involved in Clinical Data Management, Clinical Research Operations, Information Systems and Technology, Networks/Infrastructure, Quality Control/Quality Assurance, Study Management, Systems Owners/Users, and Validation. The exhibition at this year's conference has grown again, adding to its value as an international platform for pharmaceutical industry support organizations to exhibit their materials and services. This yields increased networking opportunities for attendees. To obtain details on exhibiting space and facilities, interested exhibitors should contact: phyllis.suter@diaeurope.org.
