Ceraphire® - 99.9% pure genius

Endress+Hauser Ltd

When selecting a pressure transmitter, a number of options must be considered - should the measuring membrane be stainless steel, Hastelloy, Tantalum or Monel?.

Which oil fill is most suitable? Each membrane type has an ability to resist the media in which it is measuring, but with Endress+Hauser there is another option - the Ceraphire® ceramic sensor.

Ceraphire® utilises 99.9% ceramic (Al2O3) offering a sensor that is able to resist aggressive media - even wet chlorine! It is highly resistant to abrasive products and can withstand pressure peaks up to 40 times the sensor nominal range, not something you can generally say about metal membranes! Thanks to its improved mechanical strength, no oil fill and long-term stability, Ceraphire® is the perfect solution for pressure measurement in vacuum applications.

Ceraphire® is classified within FDA regulations as (GRAS) generally recognised as safe. With the added advantage of no oil fill, the problem of compatibility with your product is removed - you have a safer product. For food and pharmaceutical applications, the smooth surface of the pure ceramic (Ra<0.1µm) sensor minimises product build-up and conforms to FDA, 3A and EHEDG requirements.
