Camlab Ltd has been a supplier into the laboratory industry since 1951 and is best known in the UK as being the main distributor for water analysis systems.
In 2005 it was decided that Camlab wanted to expand to be able to provide all industries a better and more comprehensive offering to enable them to come to Camlab as their 'one-stop-shop'.
Many industries have been streamlining their purchasing, moving to electronic ordering and reducing paperwork by progressing to purchasing only from key preferred suppliers. As an existing Ariba partner for several pharmaceutical companies, Camlab were constantly receiving enquiries for more general laboratory products as well as key brands not available through the new buying networks.
With that in mind, Camlab looked for a solution to meet both the needs of the customer, and the direction for our future, and reached the decision to look at supplying world-class brand recognised products as well as inexpensive alternatives to answer our client basis.

Over the last six months Camlab have introduced Global Brands including Whatman, Schleicher & Schuell, Sewards, Pyrex, Astell, Sartorius, Acculab, Techne, Cecil, Hettich, Gilson, Decon and Socorex. All are established companies manufacturing products that are approved for many pharmaceutical and general laboratory applications, and are considered standards for research and production all around the world.
To compliment the distribution side of the business, in 1997 Camlab became a manufacturer of own brand plastics. These products include storage boxes for general, low temperature and cryogenic applications, as well as unique lines such as a 5ml centrifuge tube and microarray accessories.
In 2005 Camlab launched a brand new range of labels suitable for use in liquid nitrogen, the Micryo series of dots and strips, unique in that no self-lamination is required when applying the label. Other products have been European Design Registered, as well as patents applied for, highlighting the drive to bring tailored applications to the end user as well as supplying products from branded suppliers.

To support each customer in their selection of product, Camlab has actively recruited Account Managers who have as a minimum a scientific background at degree level, enabling them to understand the aims of each laboratory. Each manager also receives manufacturer based training on the instruments, ensuring they also have practical experience in using the products they recommend, often a novelty in a market where many companies try to base choice only on price.

To back-up each Account Manager, the customer also has an area dedicated Technical Sales Advisor, and a full time Customer Service Team, enabling Camlab to support them through all stages of purchase and supply. After sales we continue to support our client base with our very experienced Service Department, who are able to provide both on-site and remote provision for your new and more importantly, your older instrumentation.
The combination of a long history as a laboratory supplier with the brand new Brands enables Camlab to partner each and every customer towards their goals, be they based in research or production. As a smaller company in the global supply market, we strive to provide a more personal approach to the business of laboratory supply. To Camlab, each customer is an individual, every one as important as the other whatever the annual spend.
