After 40 years in Diggle, Saddleworth in response to its rapid expansion, Vindon Scientific Limited, part of the Vindon Healthcare group, have recently relocated to the strategically sited Kingsway Business Park, Rochdale. The Park is a fantastic location for Vindon as it’s right on the motorway link, immediately adjacent to the M62 and Rochdale is an excellent catchment area for recruitment.
Controlled Environment Rooms
Vindon Scientific is a foremost designer and manufacturer of controlled environment rooms, biological cabinets, blood banks, pharmaceutical fridges and freezers, and plant growth chambers. This new storage and manufacturing facility, which was designed and fitted out to the company’s own demanding specification will provide the platform for the company to pursue its strategy for growth, whilst also enabling it to continue to grow its existing client base.
Vindon’s new headquarters boast 2,738 square metres of office and storage space, and includes a further 2,000 square metres of storage space on its purpose designed mezzanine floors thus enabling the company to consolidate all of its UK operations into the one site at Kingsway. The company is already hailed as a leading supplier of controlled environmental testing chambers in the UK and Ireland and the move will vastly increase its manufacturing capability.
Vindon also offers customers the option of storing materials under environmentally controlled ICH and non ICH conditions in its purpose designed stability suite. This unique service provides an extremely cost effective solution for controlled environmental storage of materials at temperatures ranging from -150ºC to +55ºC and humidity’s from 10% RH to 95% RH.
Ultra Low Temperature Storage
Vindon’s Stability Storage Suite can accommodate up to 20,000 cubic metres of product. Walk-In Rooms and Chambers are always available and additional chambers are available which can be customised and validated for specific customer requirements. All Stability Storage chambers are temperature and humidity mapped and operate independently, with separate real time temperature and humidity controls (where applicable). The rooms are monitored by a computer controlled logging system which is linked to the company’s intranet so that alarms are recorded immediately; Vindon’s engineers are always available for scheduled and non-scheduled maintenance. Should a room or cabinet alarm, then on site technicians are available to deal with the problem immediately.
Vindon’s move to Kingsway will enable the company to offer a -86ºC Ultra Low Temperature storage facility for the preservation of biological materials. In addition, the facility will accommodate a number of storage facilities including a high-tech laboratory for stem cell storage. Vindon’s secure low temperature and ultra low temperature storage facility for samples and laboratory research material are designed to provide for a single box of samples all the way through to complete research projects - up to any volume.
Vindon were officially welcomed to Rochdale by Councillor Robin Parker, Mayor of Rochdale, on Monday 8th September 2008.
