Management Forum Interview: Pharmaceutical Events

Sarah Spanswick is the pharmaceutical course director at Management Forum. In this interview, we speak to Sarah about her work with the Stratum Corneum Society and other clients in the pharmaceutical sector.

Management Forum offer a full range of event management services including, exhibitions, conferences and seminars.

Are you working on anything new at the moment? What should we look out for in the coming year?

We are currently working on the Stratum Corneum VII Conference which is taking place in Cardiff in September, a number of smaller events and in-house courses for Pharma Companies across Europe, as well as a full programme of our own conferences and seminars.

In addition to overseeing the final event, you help clients with everything from sourcing speakers to event sponsorship and funding.  What support can you offer for pharmaceutical sector events?

We offer a totally flexible service, providing as much support as required on an event. Usually this is running all aspects of an event from arranging the venue, speakers carrying out marketing and registrations and staffing and running the event on the day. We can also however help on in-house courses, where we provide the tutor at your premises.

What would you look for in a successful event?

The key to a successful event is both understanding your clients requirements and good planning and preparation.

Stratum Corneum Symposium

Can you tell me more about the Stratum Corneum Society, and their events?

The Stratum Corneum Society was set up 5 years ago for those with active interests and participation in Stratum Corneum Research and Stratum Corneum Biology. The Conferences are run every 2 years and usually attract in excess of 150 delegates.

When did you start working together, and how have you helped them in organising and managing their events?

We have been working together since 2006 and have organised their last 2 Conferneces for them, the last in the US. We are now organising their next conference - Stratum Corneum VII, which will take place in Cardiff in September. We organise and manage all aspects of the Conference for the Society, from the selection of the venue through to running the 3 day conference, and social programme.

Who should attend the Stratum Corneum Symposium?

The Stratum Corneum Syposium are aimed at Cosmetic Scientists, Dermatologists and all those with an interest in research and development relating to the Stratum Corneum
