Molecular Devices introduce the new MetaXpress 5.0 High Content Image Acquisition and Analysis Software offering enhanced speed and simplified custom analysis procedures with their ImageXpress Ultra and ImageXpress Micro imaging platforms.
The software allows user-specified analysis to be executed on the MetaXpress PowerCore™ system which uses parallel processing to reduce analysis time from hours to a matter of minutes. The software features an interactive utility for easy creation of custom analyses without requiring specialist programming experience.
The high content image acquisition and analysis software features 19 pre-programmed analysis routines with the option to add additional steps to create customised analysis procedures. The software includes an object click-to-find option enabling researchers to quickly identify features of interest in the images. Data can be imported effortlessly from 3rd party systems, or export results to a range of formats using the MDCStore™ Xchange Service plug-in.
Computational biologist, Zheng Yang explained: "This unique software solution addresses the specificity required for common image analysis problems, yet offers the flexibility sought after in advanced development for high content screening methods. The MetaXpress Software has dramatically increased the speed and throughput of high content and morphometric screening of our neuron cultures. The ability to apply a custom analysis module to all images captured from a single well in batch form saves significant time in our screening workflow."
Molecular Devices cellular imaging product manager, Grischa Chandy added "With the release of MetaXpress 5.0, our software can now analyse images using custom analysis routines at speeds that will keep up with acquisition. ImageXpress® Systems combined with MetaXpress Software offer some of the fastest high content screening solutions available, significantly improving screening workflow and providing the flexibility needed for the research environment."
