Rheometry Knowledge that Stays with You - eLearning by Anton Paar on Rheological Oscillatory Tests

Everyone who is interested in discovering or rediscovering scientific basics can now do so with Anton Paar’s series of interactive eLearning CDs. These highly entertaining courses are free of charge and can be ordered directly at www.anton-paar.com. The fifth course of the series has now been released: “Basics of Rheometry - Oscillation”.

Basics of Rheometry

Anton Paar’s series of eLearning courses, initially conceived for training preparation and now met with great enthusiasm around the world, is geared to highest didactic and scientific standards. The presented stories, facts, theories and images leave a lasting impression and enhance scientific learning processes.

In the CD “Basics of Rheometry - Oscillation”, the science of measuring materials’ deformation and flow behavior in rheological oscillatory tests is summarized and presented in a concise and entertaining fashion.

While walking a virtual “Rheology Road”, eLearners are given a solid introduction to the basic physics behind oscillatory tests - and their application in industry and research. The course is presented by animated lead character Joe Flow, who makes his third and final appearance here, after also leading learners through two previous Anton Paar eLearning courses, “Basics of Viscometry” and “Basics of Rheometry – Rotation”.

Learners take a virtual tour of the “Elastic Exhibition” and the “Oscillatorium”, travelling from Hooke’s Law all the way to rheological measuring geometries. A walk through a research center offers insights on the results and applications of oscillatory tests. This research center is full of surprises: Something strange has happened to a material, which has affected the entire area of the center. Only rheologist Joe Flow and chaotic artist William Whatever can solve this mystery. All answers are found in the “Rheometer Room”…

Free-of-charge copies of “Basics of Rheometry - Oscillation” and other eLearning courses can be ordered at www.anton-paar.com.
